KCVMA Membership

Dear Veterinary Colleague:

Continuing education is a valuable and necessary part of a successful veterinary practice. Getting all of your credits in can be time consuming and expensive. But what if you AND your staff had the opportunity to get all of the continuing education you need for an entire year for just $110 dollars? You can, by joining the KCVMA.

Your $110 membership gives you access to at least 20 hours of continuing education. In 2010 the KCVMA brought in experts from all over the country to educate members on a wide range of topics. These experts made timely presentations on topics ranging from the management of flea and tick control (which we all put to use this past summer!) to wound management and tips on when to refer spinal disorders to a specialist. Other CE events included expert presentations on the increasing prevalence of vector-borne diseases like Lyme disease, managing osteoarthritis in dogs and cats through nutrition and the fact and fiction surrounding Heartworm disease. Most events also include a meal. As always, your technicians can attend under your membership, making this an even greater value for your money!

As a KCVMA Member, networking with others in your field will be fun and easy! Talk with colleagues about issues you face in your practice, gain advice and information and make great connections through networking dinners. In 2010, KCVMA Members and their families enjoyed a tour of Shatto Dairy in Osborne, MO. All social events are included in the membership fee. You’ll also find us now on Twitter (www.twitter.com/kcvma) and Facebook (www.facebook.com, search for KCVMA), making it even easier to keep in touch with what’s happening in the association

Stay on top of current issues through our bi-monthly newsletter, KCVMA News and Notes. This subscription is available to you at no additional charge. We’ll bring you stories on topics ranging from legislative news to personal interest stories about your colleagues putting their knowledge into practice to make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners. You’ll also read case studies that could help you in your own practice.

Enjoy new features on our website, www.kcvma.com. Our website now features a history section where you can learn about those who paved the way to get us where we are today. You’ll also be able to access job listings and links to other professional organizations and community resources, as well as resources for your technicians.

Don’t miss out on all KCVMA has to offer. Join now or renew your membership. You can even pay online! Go to www.kcvma.com and let us help you make your practice the very best it can be.

Sincerely,

Dr. J.C. Burcham
