Update from the Missouri Licensing Board

We have two important updates from the Missouri Veterinary Licensing Board.

1. Please ensure that all of your practicing DVM’s, including relief, have a current BNDD license (even if they practice under someone else’s DEA license).

Per the MO DHSS website (https://health.mo.gov/safety/bndd):
Any person, business, or entity in Missouri that wants to conduct any activities with controlled substances must have a registration. Examples would be purchasing, stocking, prescribing, administering, dispensing, manufacturing, distributing, and conducting research, or any other type of activity with controlled substances.

2. During the COVID pandemic, there was an increase in veterinarians that were not in compliance with their CE requirements. The Board is still doing randomly selected CE audits of DVM’s and RVT’s, please make sure you keep all of your CE records/certificates.

For additional information on the allowed break down of CE, see https://www.sos.mo.gov/cmsimages/adrules/csr/current/20csr/20c2270-4.pdf
